Juan Gabriel Rojas

Violinist

Juan Gabriel Rojas is a passionate and enthusiastic violinist, educator, and performer who consistently infuses his performances with warmth and originality, spanning Classical and Baroque traditions, as well as Latin-American, contemporary, and popular genres.

As a soloist and chamber musician, Juan Gabriel has captivated audiences across Europe and South America, showcasing his artistry in diverse settings, including traditional venues, art galleries, schools, conference centers, cafes, and intimate house concerts, making classical music accessible to a broader audience.

A gifted collaborative artist, Juan Gabriel has shared the stage with renowned musicians such as Mikhaïl Bezverkhny, the Spirale Piano Trio, Gidon Saks, and conductors Dirk Brossé, Michel Tilkin, and Rodolfo Saglimbeni. He is driven by a passion for exploring new music and has premiered works such as Beyond the Notes, a suite for violin solo by the Turkish composer Firdevs Eke, and the Belgian premier of the Venezuelan composer Paul Desenne's Solo Sonata and Venezuelan Suite.

Born in Venezuela, Juan Gabriel began his musical journey in El Sistema, a revered Venezuelan music program for children and youth orchestras. He earned his Master's Advanced Studies in Performance from the Conservatoire of Ghent (Belgium), studying under the guidance of Prof. Mikhaïl Bezverkhny and Roberto Valdés. 

From 2017 until January 2023, Juan Gabriel Rojas served as the Musical Director of Sistema in Norwich, where he shared his passion for music and his belief in its transformative power. Juan strongly believes that music can foster personal, intellectual, spiritual, and social development. As a result, he has collaborated with music education programs across Europe and South America, inspiring and educating the next generation of musicians.
